The man detained in Kaliningrad has never been one of Jehovah's Witnesses
Kaliningrad RegionOn July 26, 2017, the media reported on the detention in Kaliningrad of a man suspected of drug possession. It is not true that he is a follower of the religion of Jehovah's Witnesses.
The man shown in the news attended services of this religion in Kaliningrad, but long ago ceased all communication with believers. Accordingly, he was never a Jehovah's Witness, much less the "leader of the Kaliningrad cell" of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Jehovah's Witnesses consider the non-medical use of drugs and even tobacco smoking to be a serious sin, since the Bible teaches us to respect life and health as gifts from God, and also commands us to love our neighbor. Drug trafficking is also incompatible with the Christian morality of Jehovah's Witnesses.
